
Noah Jackson is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley where he played baseball. He signed with the Chicago Cubs as a free agent and playewith their minor league system. Noah grew up in Mill Valley and began playing baseball at Boyle Park. He then went on to star at Marin Catholic High School. Noah was an assistant coach with the Mill Valley Little League during the summer of 2004. This team won the District 3 Majors Title for the first time in 11 years. He also helped to coach the Mill Valley All Stars that earned a trip to the finals in Northern California. Noah is a talented baseball player and coach. He works well with young players encouraging them to build on their strengths and to have confidence in their talents and in themselves.

Evan Jones graduated from the University of California in 2002 with a degree in Information Systems. From 2002 to present Evan has been coaching basketball at University High School in San Francisco. He has led his team to a 22-2 record in his first two years of coaching. Evan takes a personal approach to coaching his players and is an excellent teacher and mentor. Dylan Miller-Evans is a graduate of Dartmouth College with a degree in Sociology. He played on the Dartmouth Rugby Football Club and participated in Intramural sports during his time there. Dylan is a native of San Francisco and attended San Francisco University High School where he played on the Varsity Basketball and Baseball teams. Along with serving as a Program Director, he also coaches the summer Basketball team for the First Base Foundation. Dylan also works as a private tutor specializing in helping students with learning difficulties achieve their educational goals.
Bryn Alderson graduated from Dartmouth College in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and pitched for the Big Green's baseball team for four years. He grew up in San Francisco where he attended University High School and captained the baseball team to 3 straight Bay Counties League Championships. In July of 2003, Bryn went to work in the front office for the Oakland Athletics as an assistant to the general manager and coordinator of professional scouting. He was elevated to Coordinator of Scouting in 2005, handling daily administrative duties of the scouting department, including preparation work for the Rule 4, Rule 5 and June amateur drafts. Bryn truly has a passion for the game of baseball; emphasizing communication and a positive mindset in teaching kids how to be leaders, on and off the field.


Riley Maguire is a graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in Humanities. He grew up in San Anselmo, attended Marin Catholic High School in Kentfield, played baseball for the Wildcats and continued to play through college. The oldest of nine children in a family that loves the game, Riley has spent his entire life working with teams and players in the Bay Area. He brings his knowledge and experience with baseball to the Bay Area Warriors as he was introduced as a coach with the Fall Baseball Program of 2005. As the Director of Development for mjacksoncomputers.com, he will also bring his technical expertise to the Foundation. He has additionally been involved with volunteer community programs of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Randy Johnson Charities. Riley is fluent in Spanish.

Matthew Birdseye graduated from Dartmouth College in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. While at Dartmouth, Matthew was a member of the varsity football team for three years, and he concluded his time there with two seasons on the rugby team. He also worked regularly with the Tucker Foundation, the campus organization dedicated to encouraging student participation in philanthropic activities. He grew up and went to high school on the east side of Cincinnati, where he played football, basketball, and baseball.


Charles Thornton graduated from Tufts University in Massachusetts with a degree in Economics and International Relations. He played rugby in college and helped lead Tufts to the New England Rugby Football Union Championship in 2000.
Charles grew up in San Francisco and attended SF Day School. He was also a member of San Francisco's Troop 14 where he was awarded the rank of Eagle in 1998. Charles attended University High School and was captain of both the Track and Cross Country teams his senior year.
Charles helps identify and assist those who are interested in supporting Bay Area youth athletics. As the Director of Development, he organizes fundraising efforts, special events and publications for the First Base Foundation.

Randy is currently the Men’s Varsity Basketball Head Coach at University High School in San Francisco having moved back to his hometown of San Francisco in 2005 after completing a successful career in private equity real estate investment as a partner at Transwestern Investment Company in Chicago. Randy previously worked in the real estate investment area for Equity Office Properties and Goldman, Sachs & Co. Outside of his business career Randy has spent over 20 years working with inner city youth starting when he was a “Big Brother” for a young man from Harlem as part of the Catholic Big Brother Program in New York City. His other experiences working with at-risk youth include being a volunteer with the Cabrini-Green (CHA housing project) Tutoring Program in Chicago, the HBS-Taft Jr. High School Athletic Program in Boston, and the Mercy Boys’ Home Hoops for Homework Program in Chicago. During his last five years in Chicago, Randy was a Head Coach in the national power Illinois Warriors Club Basketball Program at the 14U to 16U levels. Randy’s teams won 16 tournaments including an Illinois 14U AAU State Championship and twice placed (8th and 12th) at the AAU National Championships. To date, twelve of Randy’s former players from Chicago have earned Division I College athletic scholarships to schools including North Carolina, Duke, Louisville, Missouri, DePaul, Gonzaga and Northwestern. Randy graduated from the Thacher School in 1983 where he was the Captain of the Varsity Basketball and Varsity Baseball teams. In his senior year he led his basketball team to the Final Four of the CIF Southern Section and was named to the First Team All-CIF Southern Section and First Team All-Southern California. In 1987 Randy graduated with a B.A. from Columbia University where he played basketball at the J.V. and Varsity levels. After a knee injury his Junior year Randy was Volunteer Coach for the Lions his Senior year. Randy earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1992.

Marilyn Jackson is the President and Founder of mjacksoncomputers, a full- service computer company. She is a distinguished technology analyst who specializes in designing training programs that facilitate competence and worker productivity.
Marilyn has her BA from Boston University and her MA from Boston College. She founded her business in 1993 in Mill Valley, CA. Her computer lab has state- of- the art-equipment where she trains individuals and businesses on software applications. Marilyn is bilingual in Spanish and English.
Marilyn has worked with community service programs for 25 years. She was a Peace Corps volunteer in Peru and has also worked with many community programs in Massachusetts and California. She designed and facilitated work training and development programs for employers in Massachusetts, designed computer training programs for Marin City Boy and Girls Club and continues to advise and assist young students in organizing and applying to colleges. She is a committed educator who brings a wealth of experience, compassion and understanding to the First Base Foundation.


Alexandra Lawn is the director of Sports Psychology for the First Base Foundation. She will work hand in hand with all of our participants. She grew up in the Bay Area and attended Marin Academy High School. She earned a BA in psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and is currently finishing her Master's Degree in sport psychology at John F.
Kennedy Univeristy. Alexandra helped run and taught a sport psychology as life skills camp at the Orin Allen Youth Rehabilitation Center (Byron Boys Ranch) in Contra Costa County. This included direct work with boys ranging in ages 14-18, who were court ordered to be at this facility. Lawn has also helped run/interned at College Park High School running a sport psychology camp for girls volleyball, as well as doing an internship on sport psychology for the Menlo College womens soccer team. Currently she is doing an internship with University High School boys baseball team. Alexandra was the head coach for an under 10 year-old girl's soccer team in San Francisco, with the PAL/Viking League.
